Multiply-Step Up Movers & Shakers – Step One, Two & Three

Would you like to gain the necessary Maths skills to progress further with your career or into employment? Then this course is for you.

Who is the course aimed at?

Staffordshire Moorlands Residents aged 19+ who would like to build their confidence in numeracy for employment and/or career progression.

Course content

You will be provided with a positive experience to learn key maths skills employers expect when recruiting staff. You will have the opportunity to participate in a three-step programme of progression and learn methods to solve and analyse problems, including working with percentages, fractions, ratio, formulas and mental arithmetic skills. At the end of this programme, you will feel more confident and better prepared to apply for employment or to pursue a career change.

Learning methods

Supportive and friendly classes; 121 support; everyday maths activities; You will be encouraged to discuss the topics being delivered with class friends during the session and outside of the session too.

Learning Support

Learning support is available and learning takes place in small supportive groups

Course assessments

Your tutor will get to know you and your individual needs from the outset of the course. A friendly number skills check will help you and the tutor find out about your needs. Your tutor will monitor your progress. You will be encouraged to ask questions.

Learning materials

Workbooks and worksheets for completion of the topics being delivered throughout the programme. Mini white boards, calculators, Powerpoint, Ipads. These will all be provided for you

What can learners do next after this course?

Throughout your course you will be provided with information, advice and guidance about other courses and learning opportunities. Such as progression onto an accredited Functional Skills Maths Programme.

This course is fully funded so there are no course fees.

All of our courses are delivered by expert local learning partners across Staffordshire.  This specific courses is delivered by Buxton and Leek College.
