Direct Delivery Unit
The Direct Delivery Unit (DDU) sits within Staffordshire County Council’s Community Learning Service providing informal and formal learning opportunities for the residents of Staffordshire who are aged 19+.
Our DDU provision is designed to improve social mobility and inclusion, working with public/voluntary sector partners to continue to reduce social isolation. Our offer is designed to equip people with the confidence and skills for work and everyday life. Our courses include numeracy, ESOL, employability and digital skills and are designed for targeted groups and individuals who wish to gain the skills to improve their life chances.
Our DDU offers accredited and non-accredited flexible learning opportunities. We offer pre-entry level courses to nationally recognised qualifications, as well as interview support and confidence-boosting programmes in a range of community settings. We work closely with internal and external services including employment, regeneration, education, health and culture, job centre plus and the department for work and pensions, adding value to each.
Our courses are currently delivered in the libraries in Burton, Cannock, Leek, Lichfield, Newcastle, Stafford and Tamworth. We also offer ESOL classes at Families First, Stafford.
