This course offers a series of sessions aimed at reducing stress around learning issues. It will be based on key skills to support wellbeing with added strategies for dyslexia and similar issues.
Who is the course aimed at?
This course is suitable for adults who are coping with the stresses of learning issues themselves, their family members and friends. Along with education professionals who would like a deeper understanding of the impact of hidden disabilities and strategies that can be used for reducing that impact.
Entry requirements
The course is for Staffordshire residents aged 19+ who want to learn strategies for dealing with the impact of Dyslexia and other learning issues.
Course content
The course will explore the NHS 5 steps to wellbeing: connecting with others; being active; learning new skills; giving to others; and being mindful.
Learning methods
It will be delivered in small groups of 10 or remotely via zoom.
Learning Support
Small group size facilitated to ensure a good deal of individual support during sessions. 1-to-1s are available on request to support those with additional learning needs.
Course assessments
Learners are given individual learning plans and various in session activities to assess progress
Learning materials
All learning materials and resources are provided for the course.
What can learners do next after this course?
Individual advice and guidance is offered at the end of the course directing learners to other Dyslexia Association of Staffordshire (DAS) courses; other adult community learning courses; and Skillsbase level 2 training such as Mental Health First Aid.
