This course will help you to improve your self-confidence and self-esteem, inspire you to progress your creative watercolour art skills to create paintings of your own using this medium.
Aim of the course
The course is for Staffordshire residents aged 19+ who are experiencing or recovering from mental ill health or people who have a learning difficulty or unemployed. This is an introductory course for people who want to support their wellbeing and improve their digital skills by taking part on-line.
Entry Requirements
For everyone who would like to support their wellbeing and enjoy and the art of watercolour painting. Basic level painting skills/knowledge is helpful but not essential to take part. You will need some basic/entry level digital skills to to take part, and access to a digital device/smart phone.
Course Content
You will be supported to develop your watercolour painting skills and techniques, with on-line tutorials to support your art and your wellbeing. You will be encouraged to gain the skills and confidence to create watercolour paintings of your own.
Learning Materials
To take part in this online course you will need access to the internet and a suitable device – smartphone/ipad/tablet/laptop/computer. CARE will provide your watercolour painting resources, and a pencil for sketching so that you can take part.
Learning Methods
The course is delivered online through a closed Facebook group and/or an on-line CARE learning blog so you will develop your digital skills, learn with others online and take part in sessions on Zoom. Your tutor will also support your learning using Zoom, email and/or telephone conversations.
Learning Support
Your tutor will support your online learning; you will be asked to complete online forms, upload comments and photos and watch recorded material. We will provide you with some watercolour painting and sketching resources so that you can take part in the course and this will be delivered to your home address prior to the start date of the course.
Course Assessment
At the start of your course the tutor will find out a little more about you, your previous learning, the support you may need, what you would like to achieve on the course and guide you to set some personal goals. During the course you will be asked to reflect on your learning at regular points and will receive feedback from your tutor on your progress and achievement. You will receive a personal certificate of achievement at the end of the course.
What can learners do next/progress onto?
At the end of the course you will be provided with information/advice on other learning opportunities/local activities available on-line and in your community. This could include other creative art courses, also sketching and drawing, how to take your art out of doors, or wider personal development including English, Multiply numeracy and digital skills.
