Who is the course aimed at?
The course is aimed to help learners to develop their IT & Digital skills to help learners feel more connected with the world around them. Learners of any IT level is welcomed to help them develop their digital connectivity skills.
Entry requirements
Learners will need to live in / pay Council Tax to an eligible ACL Staffordshire Postcode & be aged 19+
Course content
Learners as part of the course will become fluent in the use of video conferencing software such as Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams, learn the ins and outs of sending Emails with attachments, connecting with the world around you by using IT skills to use the Internet whilst also building their communication skills to communicate effectively in a digital world.
Learning methods
Course sessions will be delivered face to face in a classroom environment – 5 hours of learning with a 30-minute lunch break.
Learning Support
Learner’s will have dedicated tutor support throughout the programme. Learners with specific leaning needs or those who require assistance and are aware of what they might need before the course; we can make preparations prior to the course start so that we can provide tailored support to meet their individual needs. Our dedicated enrolment and support team are also available from 08.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday via our enrolment office number as well as via email and enabled chat facilities.
Course assessments
Learner’s will take part in an initial assessment to identify their Literacy, Numeracy and IT skills prior to undertaking the course. This is designed to be a friendly stress-free process where we can ascertain what help learners may need whilst on the programme so that they can get the most out of the learning experience. Reviews are carried out mid-way and at the end of the course so that learners have an opportunity to voice any concerns or to let us know if they need any adjustments in terms of their support.
Learning materials
Learner will be provided with all course materials as part of the programme.
What can learners do next after this course/progress onto?
Upon completing this course learners are eligible to attend the further IT Courses both regulated and online. As well as this, dependant on the learners level of ability and confidence, there is also the alternative to be able to attend an accredited Entry Level or Level 1 IT Course to further upskill if they wished to as well
