Online workshop which will cover administering medication safely and the use of numeracy skills when administering medication.
Who is the course aimed at?
The course is aimed at Staffordshire residents aged 19+ who are working in a care role that includes the administration or handling of medication. This can be staff new in role or those in need of a refresher.

Course content
Course will include: administering medication safely, storing & disposing of medicines safely, keeping accurate records, and the use of numeracy skills when administering medication
Learning methods
This course will be delivered in groups, remotely via Microsoft Teams allowing active participation.
Learning Support
Initial assessment and an induction will take place to ascertain learner needs and the current level of understanding of the subject through an ILP. The tutor will apply strategies to support individual needs. The range of learning activities and levels should allow for more tailored support.
Course assessments
Ongoing formative assessment during sessions to ascertain knowledge and understanding and progress being made. Q&A and feedback will occur during each session. Regular assessments for development will happen to ensure skills are developed.
Learning materials
Resource library of tutor led and group activities. Workbooks and interactive materials will be embedded. Digital equipment available for learners to use if onsite in classroom. All learning materials are provided.
What can learners do next after this course?
Upon completion of the course learners may progress onto ‘Train the Trainer’ – internal leadership

This course is accessed online, from the comfort of you own home, or from a computer at a local community centre or library.
