Entry requirements
To be aged 19+, to have lived in the UK for the last 3 years and to be a resident of Staffordshire.
Course content
The course has the following outcomes;
– Basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in financial contexts.
– Creating and managing personal budgets.
Understanding and using fractions and percentages.
– Solving practical financial problems, such as comparing mobile phone plans and calculating tips.
– Real-life applications of numeracy skills for financial empowerment.
Learning methods
You will learn in a variety of ways which will include;
– Live interactive sessions via Microsoft Teams.
– Practical exercises and real-life problem-solving activities.
– Group discussions and collaborative tasks.
– Step-by-step guidance and support from the tutor.
Learning Support
You will receive guidance on how to access the online portal through microsoft teams and our online platform. You will also receive support where needed from the tutor throughout the programme
Course assessments
Pre-course and post-course surveys to assess confidence and skills.
– Practical exercises and problem-solving activities during sessions.
– Group discussions and participation.
Learning materials
All materials will be provided, will need access to a tablet, laptop or computer during the programme.
What can learners do next after this course?
Following completion of the course you will be able to complete your functonal skills level 2 qualification or further your skills with other numeracy courses.
