Fun bite sized activities rooted in art and nature to encourage growing confidence to use everyday maths. It will help develop numeracy skills, and build confidence with shapes, temperatures, weighing and measuring and time. Seasonally themed.
Who is the course aimed at?
Staffordshire residents aged 19+ who would like to increase their confidence in using numbers, in particular those attending the Living Springs Community Centre.

Course Content
It will help develop your numeracy skills, and build confidence with using Temperatures; Weighing and measuring in metric and how to convert from pounds (lb) and ounces (oz); awareness of time and how to read it, both digital and analogue time. Activities will be seasonally themed and will incorporate opportunities to discuss diversity and traditions around the world.
Learning Methods
This course is a face-to-face learning course. The course will also give you the opportunity to develop your digital skills, learn with others and take part in sessions with your tutor. Learning is also supported with access to CARE digital devices.
Learning Support
Your Tutor will support your learning, including help with IT skills to use the course digital devices. Transport is available from Cannock Leisure Centre and Stafford Sainsbury’s.
Course Assessments
At the start of your course, the tutor will find out a little more about you, your previous learning, the support you may need, what you would like to achieve on the course, and guide you to set some personal goals. During the course, you will be asked to reflect on your learning at regular points and will receive feedback from your tutor on your progress and achievement. You will receive a personal certificate of achievement at the end of the course.
Learning Materials
Learning is also supported with access to CARE digital devices. We will use some upcycled and recycled resources. You will be encouraged to bring in some recycled resources of your own if you wish.
What can learner’s do next/progress onto?
At the end of the course you will be provided with information/advice on other learning opportunities/local activities available on-line and in your community. This could include further Multiply courses in Staffordshire which are also signposted through SCC Course Directory.
