This is a 5 week basic maths course that will focus on the skills needed for life, e.g. budgeting, time and money
Who is the course aimed at?
Our Maths Confidence for Life and Work course is aimed at those who want to improve their skills relative to everyday tasks and or for those not quite ready for a functional skills course. The aim is to build confidence ready for your next steps, in a relaxed, friendly environment.
Entry requirements
Staffordshire residents aged 19+
Course content
Content will be based on our super six topics: Fractions, Percentages, Money, Ratio, Area and Data all linked to common life and work situations.
Learning methods
You will learn through a combination of teacher input, demonstrations, practical exploration and discussion.
Learning Support
Additional learning support is available and can be arranged as part of the enrolment process.
Course assessments
No formal assessment of learning is included other than supportive input from your teacher and a self reflection, measuring your confidence in the covered topics.
Learning materials
Learning materials will provided by your teachers during the course.
What can learners do next after this course?
You will be able to progress to one of our community based basic maths skills course or one of functional skills courses, that will lead to certification and potential progress within the world of work.
