Course Content
This course provides an introduction to Forest Bathing. We will guide the group through a variety of exercises and ideas to deepen a connection to the world around us, this ranges from outdoor breathing exercises, to barefoot walking, to foraged art. We will delve in the science behind this practice and consider how to adapt ideas for everyday life.
Learning methods
This is a blended learning course. The first part of the course (2 hrs) will be a chance for independent learning, using the welcome email pack to guide you through the course introduction and starter activities. There will then be one in-person session (4hrs), where we will meet as a group to connect and try a variety of nature based ideas to support wellbeing. You will then be supported to integrate and adapt these ideas in the following fortnight through independent learning and evaluation.
Learner Support
Two tutors will guide this course and provide support wherever needed. We offer choice and flexibility to provide a quality learning experience. We can work together to ensure the course is accessible and works for you. We offer a personal approach to our online learning and are on hand to help and support throughout. Through WhatsApp groups and online platforms, we encourage learners to help each other as well, to create a supportive online learning environment.
Course Assessments
There are no formal assessments as part of this course. We ask for feedback to encourage regular reflection. There are two compulsory final feedback forms to complete at the end of the course.
Learning Materials
The course learning materials are accessed via email, or through online platforms or the live session. We offer support for accessing these materials, if anyone needs a bit of extra help. We include a resource list in the email welcome pack. Where possible we encourage the re-use of other items, or to adapt the activities to use what you already have. Where necessary, we are able to provide hard copies of the learning materials.

Throughout the course you will be provided with information and advice about other learning opportunities and community projects available for you. This includes links to other adult learning opportunities, ecotherapy courses and additional pathways to support wellbeing.

This is a blended delivery course. The in person part of this course will take place at Cannock Chase Forest, Birches Valley, WS15 2UQ. Car parking charges of £3.50 per car have been agreed.
