You will be learning all aspects of level 1 and 2 carpentry and joinery, from hand tool work, through to 1st fix 2nd fix and structural carcass work.
Who is the course aimed at?
Staffordshire residents aged 19+ who are looking to support development of key skills in carpentry and joinery.

There are no formal entry requirements.
Course content
This is Part 2 which is the second block of the course. This course will then move onto more complicated work, that encompasses 2nd fix work and fine trim carpentry, these skills will be assessed on a criteria based level which will only be completed after their skills have been developed through the first block of learning.
Learning methods
You will be taught face to face in the workplace by a friendly and experienced assessor
Learning Support
Classes are small to ensure your teacher can provide you with the help and support you need to enable you to confidently access the class learning materials. Individual specific needs will be discussed at the start of the course.
Course assessments
To ensure you are on track and have understanding of the course, your teacher will use verbal questions, observations and an individual learning plan to monitor your progress against the course outcomes.
Learning materials
We will provide the workbooks you will need to bring a pen and paper to take notes and to be able to complete the workbooks during the course.
What can learners do next after this course?
This course will allow learners to progress onto a level 2 diploma in carpentry and joinery, as they will have acquired the skills in order to pass various assessments in order to gain a level 2 qualification. The skills that they will develop will also allow them to apply for a private NVQ in carpentry and joinery, as they can use all of the work that they have been producing as evidence to support their portfolio.
