Developing skills for administration

Introduction course to Business Administration. The course will give you an understanding of your role as an administrator and the duties you will undertake. You will explore the importance of teamwork and how to enhance your communication skills.

Who is the course aimed at?

A programme for users who feel they have some IT skills already but struggle to use them within an office environment. Learners will be interested in developing their administration skills and knowledge to enhance employability skills .

Entry requirements

An individual aged nineteen (19) or over on 31st August within the Contract Period, residing within the eight (8) Staffordshire districts. All target groups, and specifically: parents, carers and guardians who wish to develop their skills, and new adult Learners.

Course Content

You will get an insight into the variety of Administration opportunities. You will gain an understanding of aspects of the role. You will understand the importance of teamwork and how you can be an effective team player.

Learning Methods

The trainer will deliver the course in a friendly and welcoming classroom environment. You will have the opportunity to work independently and with your peers in a range of activities and discussions.

Learner Support

All sessions are adapted according to the individual needs of learner. Accessibility: Newcastle: Inaccessible for those with limited mobility. Burton: Ground floor fully accessible. Biddulph: Lift available fully accessible. English and Maths initial assessments are carried out prior to the start of the course. Our dedicated enrolment and support team are also available from 8.00am till 5.00pm Monday to Friday via our enrolment office number as well as via email and enabled chat facilities.

Course Assessment

Learners will be initially assessed to identify their starting points, personal goals and recognise any support needs. During the course learners will be assessed via informal feedback on work produced, verbal feedback during discussions & Q & A. Learners will also take part in reviews consistent with the length of the course.

Learning materials

Learners will be provided with all course materials as part of the programme.

What can learners do next/progress onto?

Throughout your course you will be provided with information and advice about other learning opportunities available. We have a range of opportunities for you to progress onto based on your needs and aspirations. Progression could include Level 1 Business Administration course.
