This is a follow on programme from Office IT skills or a programme for users who feel they have some IT skills already but struggle to use them within an office environment.
Who is the course aimed at?
This course is aimed at learners who want to build on both their IT and Administrative skills for use within the workplace or voluntary settings.
Entry requirements
Learners will need to live in / pay Council Tax to an eligible ACL Staffordshire Postcode & be aged 19+
Course Content
Setting of SMART targets in developing knowledge and understanding around areas of Administrative work environment including:
Employee rights and responsibilities, employment law and Employer responsibilities in the workplace, the role of the Administrator, time management skills for working with others and completing tasks, effective communication techniques for working with colleagues and dealing with customers, appropriate appearance and behaviour in the office environment, Health and Safety in the workplace , correct methods for maintaining business and customer security.
Learning Methods
Course sessions will be delivered face-to-face in a classroom environment – 5 hours of learning with a 30 minute lunch break
Learner Support
Learners will have dedicated tutor support throughout the programme. Learners with specific learning needs or those who require assistance and are aware of what help they might need before the course; we can make preparations prior to their course start so that we can provide tailored support to their individual needs. Our dedicated enrolment and support team are also available from 8.00am till 5.00pm Monday to Friday via our enrolment office number as well as via email and enabled chat facilities.
Course Assessment
Learners will take part in an initial assessment to identify their Literacy, Numeracy and IT skills prior to undertaking the course. This is designed to be a friendly stress-free process where we can ascertain what help the learners may need whilst on the programme so that they get the most out of the process. Reviews are carried out on the course so that learners both mid-way and at the end have an opportunity to voice any concerns that they may have or if they need any adjustments in terms of their support.

Learners will be provided with all course materials as part of the programme.
What can learners do next/progress onto?
Upon completion of the course learners will be able to progress either into work or onto a regulated learning outcome such as the Level 1 in Business Administration.
