Computers For Beginner’s

Gain an understanding of basic computing skills for life and work.

Who is this course aimed at?

Staffordshire learners aged 19+ who are looking to support development of basic computing skills such as an introduction to using devices, an introduction to MS Office Suite packages , using technology to communicate and how to stay safe and secure when using technology.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Course Content

While attending the introductory course you will explore essential digital skills for life, work, or further study. The course will include an introduction to using devices, an introduction to MS Office Suite packages, using technology to communicate and how to stay safe and secure when using technology.

Learning Methods

You will be taught face to face in the workplace by a friendly and experienced assessor

Learner Support

Classes are small to ensure your teacher can provide you with the help and support you need to enable you to confidently access the class learning materials. Individual specific needs will be discuss at the start of the course.

Course Assessments

To ensure you are on track and your understanding of the course, your teacher will use verbal questions, observations and an individual learning plan to monitor your progress against the course outcomes.

Learning Materials

We will provide the workbooks. You will need to bring a pen and paper to take notes and to be able to complete the workbooks during the course.

What can learners do next/progress onto?

During the course you and your teacher will explore progression options depending on your individual needs. Learners can progress onto an internal NSCG College offer such as Essential Digital Skills run by NSCG or be signposted to other local providers.

Are there any fees?

This course is fully funded and so there are no course fees.
