This course will help you to improve your self-confidence and self-esteem, inspire you to progress your creative watercolour art skills to create landscape paintings of your own using this medium.
Who is the course aimed at?
This on-line course is for Staffordshire residents and parents aged 19+ who would like to learn a new skill; who may be experiencing or recovering from mental ill health or people who have a learning difficulty or unemployed. This is an introductory course for people who want to support their own, and families’ wellbeing and enjoy learning something new.
Entry Requirements
For everyone who would like to support their wellbeing and enjoy the art of watercolour painting. This course is suitable for those wishing to progress their art skills, and for those with little prior experience. You will need some basic digital skills to take part, and access to a digital device/smart phone.
Course Content
This course is for people who want to support their wellbeing and develop their art skills. This course focuses on painting landscapes in watercolour for starters and improvers and discusses ways nature and art can support your wellbeing. You will also improve your digital skills by taking part on-line.
Learning Methods
The course is delivered online through a CARE learning blog so you will develop your digital skills, learn with others online and take part in sessions on Zoom – weeks 1, 3 and 6. Your tutor will also support your learning using email and/or telephone conversations.
Learning Support
Your tutor will support your online learning; you will be asked to complete online forms, upload comments and photos and watch recorded material.
Course Assessments
At the start of your course, the tutor will find out a little more about you, your previous learning, the support you may need, what you would like to achieve on the course, and guide you to set some personal goals. During the course, you will be asked to reflect on your learning at regular points and will receive feedback from your tutor on your progress and achievement. You will receive a personal certificate of achievement at the end of the course.
Learning Materials
To take part in the online course you will need access to the internet and a suitable device – smartphone/ipad/tablet/laptop/computer.
What can learner’s do next/progress onto?
At the end of the course, you will be given information and advice about other learning opportunities and local activities available to you both on-line and in your community. This could include other Family learning/wellbeing courses to support you and your family signposted through SCC CL Course Directory and wider personal development including English, Multiply numeracy and digital skills.
