Get ready to make maths magical this holiday season with our Countdown to Christmas Maths Family Learning course! Over six weeks, families will engage in fun, festive, and educational activities that integrate maths into the excitement of Christmas. This course is designed to enhance mathematical skills through hands-on activities, games, and holiday-themed projects, making learning enjoyable for everyone.
Who is the course aimed at?
This 2 hour session is for Staffordshire residents aged 19 and over and their children. This is a fun practical family learning event where you will get the opportunity to create resources to countdown for Christmas.

Course content
This course is designed to allow you to look at how young people are taught maths in schools. The activities will be practical based and designed to be done together.
Learning methods
Teaching will include tutor led sessions in small groups.
Learning Support
Your tutor will support you throughout you and your child(ren). Your tutor will get to know you and what you want to achieve and include this in the delivery of session. You will also have the opportunity to have some one-to-one time with your tutor.
Course assessments
Throughout the course you will complete a number of tasks relevant to your learning. Your tutor will give you feedback throughout using an Individual Learning Plan. The Individual Learning Plan records your learning and your achievement.
Learning materials
You will need to provide your Date of Birth, Postcode and proof of ID (passport, national ID card, driver’s licence). Your tutor will provide all crafts materials you will need.
What can learners do next after this course?
Throughout the course your tutor will provide you with information and advice about other learning opportunities. When you have completed this course, you can progress onto another digital skills course. You may also want to gain a qualification to help you develop more skills for everyday life or for employment. You can also learn at home using Learn My Way, Skillswise or BBC Bitesize websites.
