This course will help people to look at their fixed and variable outgoings and use maths applications to help them to calculate and estimate whilst exploring ways to manage money more effectively.
Who is the course aimed at?
For those wishing to effectively manage their household income and expenditure, this course will support Staffordshire residents to be able to understand how to recognise ways to save on costs, calculate income and outgoings using simple calculations.
The course is designed for all residents to take part and will use appropriate examples during activities that make the calculations relevant to the learner.
Entry Requirements
Staffordshire residents aged 19+ who are recovering from mental ill health who have not already got a Maths Level 2 qualification.
Course Content
Using basic maths to manage personal budgets, looking at different ways of saving money. Courses may include cookery, crafts and other activities to demonstrate simple maths skills. e.g A course may be based on weights, measures and budget planning to create healthy meals plans and inspire cost efficient and healthy home cooking.

Face to face learning with small groups
Learner Support
From the start we will work with you to identify what support you may need. This may be reading, writing or practical skills. The staff and volunteers are all there to support you. An initial assessment is carried out to identify any specific needs, You will then be offered a course that meets these requirements.
Learner Assessments
Ongoing feedback from tutors and assessing task completion and development through observations. Tutor reviews and feedback. Every participant has an individual learning plan.
Course Materials
All course materials are provided free of charge.

Throughout the course tutors will discuss what other courses or career options are available to you. This may include other Multiply maths courses or community learning courses in a variety of subjects to meet the needs of the individual.
