Do you need help with budgeting? Do you need help with planning ahead? This course will help you to plan, budget and organise using English and number skills. You will learn about time, dates, scheduling, food prices and preparation, comparing prices at supermarkets, making lists and working to a budget. The course will end with a group trip you have helped to plan as a celebration.
Who is the course aimed at?
This course is for Staffordshire residents aged 19 and over who want to improve their English and maths skills in a fun, practical way. Learners will also learn how to support children with school and homework. This course is designed for learners who are new to the UK or have limited English (Pre-Entry ESOL)

Course content
Feel confident with English and maths and learn to make it work in your favour, in every aspect of daily life.
Learning methods
Teaching will include tutor led sessions in small groups, 1:1 tuition, tutor demonstration, quizzes, and practical exercises. You will work at your own pace and will complete the activities using your own device or the library computer. You learning progress will be recorded.
Learning Support
Your tutor will support you throughout your learning journey. Your tutor will get to know you and what you want to achieve from the course and include this in the delivery of sessions. You will also have the opportunity to have some one-to-one time with your tutor.
Course assessments
There is no exam on the course. Throughout the course you will complete a number of activities to support your learning. Your tutor will give you feedback using an Individual Learning Plan. The Individual Learning Plan records your learning and your achievement.
Learning materials
On enrolment you will need to provide proof of ID (passport, national ID card, driver’s licence) and proof of eligibility. For the course you will need a pen, a note pad and a documents folder. Access to a tablet or PC with internet/Wifi

Throughout the course your tutor will provide you with information and advice about other learning opportunities. When you have completed this course, you can progress onto another digital skills courses. You may also want to gain a qualification to help you develop more skills for everyday life or for employment.
