Join us online as we explore your local woodland to celebrate and learn how to make rustic hand crafted festive art and crafts. These festive sessions are inspired by traditions from around the world and can be enjoyed by all of your family.
Who is the course aimed at?
The online course is for Staffordshire residents and parents aged 19+ who are experiencing or recovering from mental ill health or people who have a learning difficulty or unemployed. This is an introductory course for people who want to support their own, and families’ wellbeing.
Entry requirements
For everyone who would like to support their own and families wellbeing, and gain some practical ideas and skills to share with their children/family this Festive Season.
Course Content
This online course will help you to create festive rustic art and craft, improve your wellbeing, and guide you through the skills and techniques needed to complete projects you can make with your children too, including foraging for resources from your garden, hedgerow and local woodland. We take inspiration too from different cultures around the world.
Learning Methods
The course is delivered online through a CARE learning blog so you will develop your digital skills, learn with others online and take part in sessions on Zoom – weeks 1, 3 and 4. Your tutor will also support your learning using email and/or telephone conversations.
Learning Support
Your tutor will support your online learning; you will be asked to complete online forms, upload comments and photos and watch recorded material.
Course Assessment
At the start of your course the tutor will find out a little more about you, your previous learning, the support you may need, what you would like to achieve on the course and guide you to set some personal goals. During the course you will be asked to reflect on your learning at regular points and will receive feedback from your tutor on your progress and achievement. You will receive a personal certificate of achievement at the end of the course.

To take part in this online course you will need access to the internet and a suitable device – smartphone/ipad/tablet/laptop/computer.
What can learners do next/progress onto?
At the end of the course you will be provided with information/advice on other learning opportunities/local activities available on-line and in your community. This could include other Family learning/wellbeing courses to support you and your family signposted through SCC CL Course Directory and wider personal development including English, Multiply numeracy and digital skills.
