Great free and fully funded course in nature inspired art and crafts which will help improve your self-esteem, confidence and general well-being. Join us online as we celebrate and learn about Christmas in the Countryside. Upcycle foraged rustic resources and some favourites of your own to create festive hand crafted gifts for your home, family and friends.
Who is the course aimed at?
The course is for Staffordshire residents aged 19+ who are experiencing or recovering from mental ill health or people who have a learning difficulty or unemployed, or recovering from stroke injury and are members of Rugeley Stroke Group. This is an introductory course for people who want to support their wellbeing.

Course Content
To introduce you to festive rustic art and craft, improve your wellbeing, and guide you through the skills and techniques needed to complete your projects, including foraging for organic resources from our garden and farm hedgerow. We take inspiration too from different cultures around the world.
Learning Methods
This course is a face-to-face learning course. The course will also give you the opportunity to develop your digital skills, learn with others and take part in sessions with your tutor. Learning is also supported with an on-line Padlet learning blog.
Learning Support
Your Tutor will support your learning, including help with IT skills to photograph and record your work.
Course Assessment
At the start of your course the tutor will find out a little more about you, your previous learning, the support you may need, what you would like to achieve on the course and guide you to set some personal goals. During the course you will be asked to reflect on your learning at regular points and will receive feedback from your tutor on your progress and achievement. You will receive a personal certificate of achievement at the end of the course.
Learning Materials
Many course materials will be provided by CARE, you will be encouraged to add some recycled resources of your own.
What can learners do next/progress onto?
At the end of the course you will be provided with information/advice on other learning opportunities/local activities available on-line and in your community. This could include vocational skills courses in Animal Care, Horticulture, Environmental studies, Green Crafts, Cookery, and wider personal development including English, numeracy and digital skills. Family learning/wellbeing courses to support you, your families are also signposted through SCC CL Course Directory.
